It is not possible to visit Padua without a worthy stop in one of the cornerstones of its history: the legendary, it has to be said, Caffé Pedrocchi.
The Pedrocchi is not just a bar, it would be reductive to call it that. It is a real rich, small and precious grain of what has always represented Italy and Beauty. Coffee here becomes a ritual and sipping it from an elegant service among the mirrors and paintings that adorn the rooms, becomes a real experience of taste and charm.
Completely restored its rooms, returned to its former glory, now welcomes cultural and musical events, graduation and wedding receptions, but also simple snacks to spend in the beautiful living room of Padua. Not only, thanks to the pastry shop and the Pedrocchi Experience, and to the Mint Coffee, a typical wellness ritual offered to all true lovers of the break.
But Caffè Pedrocchi is also much more, it is a finely preserved piece of art and history: you can still see in the Sala Bianca, that bullet lodged in the wall as an eternal memory of the 1848 student uprising.
However, the real gem of the place is the Red Room: it contains the original nineteenth-century marble counter supported by lion paws built on a design by Jappelli and is finely furnished.
The famous loggia adds elegance to the whole, the true frame of the café on Piazzetta Pedrocchi, the embrace of the place to Padua's inhabitants and not, who look at it admiringly and perhaps a little intimidated by the lions guarding it, the work of the architect Petrelli.
