It will be just Malco to make the Carthaginians arrive in Sardinia for an epic operation of defense of the Phoenicians. The general had a long career of victories behind him, in Africa and already in Sicily ten years earlier, so there were all the conditions for a good outcome of the conflict.
This time, however, Malco was not as lucky, or events played to his disadvantage. He had to return home humiliated and defeated, with considerable losses of men and resources at his expense: his decline had begun. To the painful defeat in fact, followed the exile, never really accepted by the General. He tried to return home as a winner, with a blatant coup d'état, but failed. Malco was arrested and executed as a traitor, now lost the memories of his successes in battle.
