Our Palladian E-Bikes: Elena

One of our E-Bikes is called Helen.

Pivotal figure of the Trojan War, her origins are lost in myth: for some she was the daughter of the King of Sparta and his wife Leda, sister of Pollux, Castor and Clytemnestra.

Helen, human emblem of beauty, gorgeous face, to arouse the lusts of Paris who kidnaps her husband Menelaus, King of Sparta and brave fighter, during a diplomatic visit and brings her with him to Troy.

The gesture triggers one of the most devastating and longest wars of the classical epic, narrated with ardor in Homer's Iliad.

Menelaus and Paris finally arrive at the clash, the duel. The prize? The beautiful Helen and inestimable riches and not least, the end of the war.

Helen goes to the tower located near the Scee gates and afflicted prepares for her fate.

Here is Menelaus, who asks Zeus for justice and help in killing the enemy, so that it can serve as a warning to generations to come.

Aided by a dense fog brought by Aphrodite, Paris however escapes and is reunited with Helen, fought in the esteem towards Menelaus, now proclaimed winner of the duel.

Paris will not die as a hero, and Helen will not be released if not after a further marriage with the brother of these. The Odyssey wants her finally reconciled to her legitimate husband and reigning over Sparta, even if she is disliked by the people who saw in her the cause of countless misfortunes.
